Co2 Cylinder Selection
Aluminium and alloy are the two types of CO2 cylinders available. When compared to Alloy, Aluminium is slightly more expensive, but provides significant benefits because it weighs less, has a polished surface, and does not rust.
When selecting your Co2 cylinder, do ensure that it can fit into your cabinet along with your regulator.
Selecting the right cylinder size for your aquarium, a 2 liter Co2 cylinder will last 3-4 months with 1 bubble per second for 8 hours a day in a standard 2 feet fish tank. Below is the recommendation for tank size to cylinder size:
|Nano - 30cm||30cm - 45cm||60cm - 90cm||90cm and above|
0.5L - 1L
0.8L - 2L
2L - 4L
In Asia W21.8 thread head is commonly used, the thread head is the thread connecting to your regulator, when purchasing a cylinder do avoid G5/8 thread head, as this is commonly used in the USA only. All Townbright cylinders and regulators are W21.8 thread head.
